Folio

Getting started

The first fifteen minutes after installing Folio, in the order that saves the most rework later.

1. Apply the preset

Folio ships with one preset. It is applied automatically on install and sets the colour schemes, typography, spacing and card defaults. Everything below adjusts it rather than replacing it.

2. Brand basics

Under Theme settings → Brand: your logo, an inverse logo for use over dark imagery, a favicon, and a sharing image for when a link is posted. Set the favicon — without one the browser requests /favicon.ico and logs a 404 on every page.

3. Colour and type

Five colour schemes ship configured. Sections pick a scheme rather than individual colours, so changing a scheme changes everywhere it is used. All five meet WCAG AA contrast as supplied — if you edit them, keep muted text at or above 4.5:1 against its background.

4. Navigation

Folio reads the shape of your menu. Build it properly and the mega menu arranges itself — see Navigation.

5. The product page

This is where the category is won or lost. Set the size guide, the fit scale and the fabric details — see Product page.

Before you launch. Turn off demo products under Theme settings → Demo content if you have switched them on. They appear in the theme editor by default and never on your storefront unless you ask for them.
